Pediatric Emergencies
Join us for some insight into an EMS topic that tends to scare most providers; Pediatric Emergencies! Kids are scary to EMS providers for several reasons. One, Peds calls make up only 13% of all EMS calls. In many cases it is accidents or what we classify as learning injuries that cause trauma that can be difficult to view. We see kids as innocent and they pull at our heart strings. We have to treat them with medication and are out of practice on the doses. Kid calls are scary! But with the right information in hand they can be more routine than scary. Join us to learn about some of the more common and less seen pediatric emergencies!
Your Instructor
Jason Tartalone is the founding member and owner of Sergeant Rescue Training & Consulting. He is a 12 year veteran of the U.S. Army and has spent a considerable time in Afghanistan serving as a senior medic for a scout and infantry company where he earned his Combat Medical Badge. He has also spent a considerable time working in austere environments with limited resources and support and has been involved in wilderness search and rescue for the past 18 years.
Jason is an accomplished wilderness rescue instructor and is a nationally registered Paramedic and has been active in EMS for 14 years as an EMS practitioner and educator.
