Hybrid WFR Course
The NASAR Wilderness First Responder (WFR) Hybrid Course blends self-paced online learning with intensive hands-on practical training to prepare responders for medical emergencies in remote and austere environments. The online modules cover essential topics provides foundational knowledge relating to austere care. Following the online coursework, participants engage in interactive, scenario-based training to reinforce skills through practical application in realistic wilderness environments. To ensure a seamless learning experience, all online modules must be completed before attending the in-person laboratory sessions.

Your Instructor
Jason Tartalone is the founding member and owner of Sergeant Rescue Training & Consulting. He is a 12 year veteran of the U.S. Army and has spent a considerable time in Afghanistan serving as a senior medic for a scout and infantry company where he earned his Combat Medical Badge. He has also spent a considerable time working in austere environments with limited resources and support and has been involved in wilderness search and rescue for the past 18 years.
Jason is an accomplished wilderness rescue instructor and is a nationally registered Paramedic and has been active in EMS for 14 years as an EMS practitioner and educator.
