Welcome to the newly minted and completely updated Introduction to SAR course. This online course is designed to provide you with all of the necessary information to successfully pass the NASAR SARTECH III exam and grant you the ability to complete that goal in your own set timeframe.
The course is 14 modules in length and introduces you to the many facets of Search and Rescue and introduces you to some basic skills and search techniques to prepare you for the next step which is the jump to field team member status. This course meets all of the requirements for SAR Awareness recognition.
To complete this course you must:
- Turn in you registration and liability waiver.
- Complete all of the modules and associated quizzes.
- Complete the course survey contained in the final module.
Your Instructor
Jason Tartalone is the founding member and owner of Sergeant Rescue Training & Consulting. He is a 12 year veteran of the U.S. Army and has spent a considerable time in Afghanistan serving as a senior medic for a scout and infantry company where he earned his Combat Medical Badge. He has also spent a considerable time working in austere environments with limited resources and support and has been involved in wilderness search and rescue for the past 18 years.
Jason is an accomplished wilderness rescue instructor and is a nationally registered Paramedic and has been active in EMS for 14 years as an EMS practitioner and educator.
