Hyperthermia Management
Summer is here and so are the heat related illness that are rampant as part of it! Heat illness management may seem very straight forward. However, there are safe techniques and subtle signs that can be missed before a patient rapidly declines. Heat illnesses can occur indoors or outdoors during any time of year. If not prevented, heat illness can pose a serious risk. Heat stroke can be fatal, and patients suffering from heat exhaustion may experience confusion and impaired judgment, making accidents and other injuries more likely. Your Instructor
Jason Tartalone is the founding member and owner of Sergeant Rescue Training & Consulting. He is a 12 year veteran of the U.S. Army and has spent a considerable time in Afghanistan serving as a senior medic for a scout and infantry company where he earned his Combat Medical Badge. He has also spent a considerable time working in austere environments with limited resources and support and has been involved in wilderness search and rescue for the past 18 years.
Jason is an accomplished wilderness rescue instructor and is a nationally registered Paramedic and has been active in EMS for 14 years as an EMS practitioner and educator.
